In Unit 1 we explored ‘Identity’. I found the Peter Kennard exhibition very thought provoking and not something I would ever have envisaged going to in the past. The bank of faces inspired me to create some artwork about modern slavery and domestic violence. I later reworked the original painting as I was unhappy with the result of my initial attempt. I learnt a lot from making the original piece of artwork and doing the presentation for Unit 1.
I found inspiration from the same ‘bank of faces’ in my FMP. For me they represent the misery of victims of any form of injustice at the hands of a perpetrator or result of a situation. The Kennard piece and my own work from unit 1 contributed to the framework of the idea for my FMP to have spider’s webs ‘trapping’ victims.
